This presentation will review emerging artificial intelligence-based solutions and their potential, application, obstacles, and unintended consequences when implemented to support clinical documentation integrity (CDI) initiatives. AI-based solutions have emerged with the promise to transform many aspects of healthcare. With great pressure to create efficiency within the revenue cycle, and the simultaneously increasing amount of patient data, healthcare leaders require a stronger understanding of AI technologies and the effective application and implementation of those technologies to support CDI initiatives. Healthcare leaders must also develop insight on the obstacles and unintended consequences of AI that can limit its benefit.
