The Pathway to Clinical and Administrative Data Convergence

This session will provide an overview of the pressures pushing healthcare in the direction of integrating clinical and administrative data streams. The session will also assess the current “state of play” in the public policy and regulatory arena, such as recent recommendations from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology Advisory Committee, ongoing discussions by the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics, regulatory efforts by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and private sector initiatives seeking to accelerate the adoption of HL7® FHIR® as a standard to support the convergence of clinical and administrative data.
